Fire Rescue's New Truck

The New Dania Beach Fire Rescue truck is operational. 
Rescue 17 is a Type 1, Medium Duty Rescue built on a 2016 International Navistar® 4300 2 door chassis.  This unit replaces old Rescue 17 that was destroyed and decommissioned after being involved in a motor vehicle collision back in FY 2015 that saw all crew members transported to the hospital. 

More about the unit:
This unit has a wheel base of 175” and is powered by a 260HP engine sporting an Allison 3000 transmission.  The electronics for the unit are controlled by a start of the art VMUX System that provides computer driven controls over the electrical system and provides for the most efficient use of power as well as safe operations of the vehicle including warning systems. The patient compartment area boasts an 180” aluminum module box with 6 feet of headroom and ample space for working on patients.  There is a new state of the art stretcher that is battery power assisted and loads using a special designed track system.
